For homebuyers who want to visit a public open house

When buying a home, public open houses seemed superficial in most markets a few years ago. It isn’t that way anymore in 2006. Availability of homes for sale in the market have made public open houses a good deal this year. But, there are some rules to follow up if you really wish to visit a public open house as an option to buy a home. When arriving, be ready to show up your ID, security and protection are primordial for everyone. If you arrive earlier than expected, stay outside and wait until the designated time is setup for opening. If you arrive late, don’t feel mad if the hosting house Real Estate Agents doesn’t have any additional minutes for you since they usually have another meeting previously arranged.  They won’t make clients wait for them.
If you smoke, do not smoke while visiting the house even though the home seller is smoking in front of you.  If you are visiting a house owned  by Chinese or Japanese people, don’t be surprised if you are asked to take your shoes off to get in the house.
Have breakfast, lunch or snack before visiting the house, don’t bring food or beverages with you when entering in the house. Visit the house with your wife or alone, don’t bring the whole family with you. Make sure your cell phone is turned off or to vibrate so it won’t cause any molestation or distraction. You must keep yourself concentrated on the home. And, if you are serious enough about buying a home, don’t make verbal offers or discuss any purchase price during a public open house visit. Ask for a personal meeting along with your Real Estate Agent.
